Railway Transport Candidate For The Summit

Railway transportation has become one of the most preferred types of transportation in the first 4 months of the year. Recently, the number of companies delivering their cargo to many countries of the world by railway transportation has increased, bringing new statistics.

In January and April, Turkish state railway transportation inc. (TSR Transportation INC) increased by 24.8 percent in domestic transportation and 19.8 percent in international transportation compared to the same period of 2020.

According to the information of the General Directorate of TSR Transportation INC of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the increase in railway freight transportation, which has been at the forefront of ensuring the continuity of trade, continued in the first four months of 2021.

Contrary to the contraction in other transport sectors due to the new type of corona virus (Covid-19) outbreak, railway freight transportation has increased. In January and April of this year, there was a 24.8 percent increase in domestic transport and a 19.8 percent increase in international transport compared to the same period last year. Turkey has become an important center in the international railway corridor with its priority railway policies for the last 18 years, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway Line, whose infrastructure has been renewed and modernized, and the Marmaray Bosphorus Tube Crossing.
